The fear of the Boogie Man

 The monsters in literature that stick with us through the decades are not the ones that come purely from imagination. The monsters that we write about, think about, and make movies about most are either the monsters that we create or the monsters we become. We are afraid of the part of ourselves that is most like the monsters we fear.

One example that supports this idea would be the Boogie Man. The Boogie Man is a monster we fear because he/she/it represents the part of ourselves that is fear. There is no real Boogie Man and no one has ever actually seen him. I imagine him to be a dark shadow, so that’s he hides in dark places. The Boogie Man is made of fear because people were afraid of the dark. Everyone thought it would be a good idea to make up a monster that hides under your bed, so they have a reason to be scared.

What this monster represent inside our selves is fear. This monster was created on fear. I think, since people were afraid of the dark, and everyone was telling about the Boogie Man. That is probably why people started to believe that there is someone in their room. We fear this monster because everyone thinks if it comes out from under your bed then it will get you. The monsters in our closet our under our bed, like the Boogie Man, are unknown. People are afraid of what might happen. Everyone has different imagination, so they all think of different horrible things.

Eventually we all grow out of being scared of these things. We all learn that it isn’t real. We learn that we are all scared of things sometimes, and we can’t help it. It is okay to be scared of monsters because everyone has been scared of something in their life. No one really thinks that the real thing that scares them is the fear inside us.

The Boogie Man isn’t a real human being, but it was created by our imaginations. The monster inside us is the scariest monster of all. It reveals the truth and also reveals our weaknesses within ourselves.

Dr.Frankenstein vs. The Monster

Why should we be more afraid of the doctor? The doctor was the one that made the monster and people will think he is like the monster. Anyone who doesn’t know the story will think he made it to do evil. The monster isn’t really like that, but the way he looks distract people from what kind of personality he has. The doctor wanted to kill him for that same reason.  The monster didn’t want to hurt anyone, but since he couldn’t have someone love him he decided to take away the ones the doctor loved. The doctors’ want to kill the monster increased every time a loved one died. The doctor tried many times to kill it, but never succeeded. I would be more scared of the doctor because he was crazy and most people didn’t see the monster, so that would creep me out to hear a man going on about a monster no one thinks is real.  Another reason would be, since he created the monster, that he could create more to destroy the earth. Most people would think such things because he made it, then went on about how he was going crazy, and wanted to kill it.

Hero’s Essay

A good hero is hard to find. To me a hero is a genuinely good person. A genuinely good person is extremely hard to find. A hero must always think of others first.  A true hero puts others for them and their needs. Without this trait a hero does not do any good because a hero is a person that affects the people around him. A hero also has to be humble A hero is a leader.

All of the hero’s in those stories are fake. Every little child wants to be a hero. They can, but it won’t be the kind they were dreaming of. They could be a fireman or a policeman and they would still be a hero. People don’t always say thanks to them so children don’t think of them as hero’s.

A hero must be a leader but not one who puts him or her in power. A leader worries about themselves and whether they are doing the right thing and does not worry about their followers. A hero understands that if they are doing the right thing then their followers will follow that example. By leading through example followers will not question the actions of a leader. Hero’s are amazing people. If we didn’t have them the world would be horrible. It doesn’t matter if their super or not, they are still trying their best to make the world a better place.

People don’t always appreciate the hero’s that aren’t super, because they think they’re just like everyone else. Firemen give their lives to save others. It takes a lot of courage to run in a building and know you might die. A Super Hero is usually hard to hurt. While just regular people could be gone in just like that.

A real hero has to be strong, brave, and fearless. It takes a lot of all these things to sacrifice yourself for others. Self-trust is what makes a person a hero, for if he does not trust in his capabilities he will not achieve what he proposes to himself. Someone who is a hero is temperate, hospitable, generous, and dauntless. A hero is someone who sacrifices his own life, not expecting any rewards.
